The KAEFER Group keeps expanding in Asia through entry into the Indian market

	The KAEFER Group keeps expanding in Asia through entry into the Indian market India is a growing country with very capable people and the KAEFER Group is making a strong move into this market. In August 2006 KAEFER acquired a majority stake in Punj Lloyd Insulations Ltd., entering into a Joint Venture with the PUNJ LLOYD Group. PUNJ LLOYD is one of the biggest Indian EPC contractors and had created Punj Lloyd Insulations Ltd. more than 10 years ago in order to serve its internal needs. Some of the key assignments of Punj Lloyd Insulations Ltd. included complex insulation projects for the hydrocarbon processing, cryogenic (ammonia, PP/LPG, LNG terminals), pharmaceutical, metallurgical, power and other continuous process industries. Punj Lloyd Insulations Ltd., now renamed KAEFER Punj Lloyd Ltd., is among the three biggest insulation contracting companies in India. With very competent and experienced technical staff, KAEFER Punj Lloyd Ltd. can mobilize hundreds of skilled workers in the fields of thermal insulation (including cryogenic), refractory linings, acoustic insulation, scaffolding and corrosion protection. KAEFER and PUNJ LLOYD have made the commitment to invest in KAEFER Punj Lloyd Ltd., adding the necessary capacity in order to double the size of the company in 2007. Besides the presence in India through KAEFER Punj Lloyd Ltd., the KAEFER Group also established a company dedicated to providing engineering and other services to other KAEFER offices worldwide. This new company, KAEFER Engineering India Ltd., will employ at the beginning approx. 30 engineers and other professionals but has already plans of employing over 100 highly qualified people by 2008. KAEFER Group Managing Director Mr. Peter Hoedemaker stated “We have found a great partner in the PUNJ LLOYD Group and we are very happy by participating in the exciting development of India through KAEFER Punj Lloyd Ltd. and KAEFER Engineering India Ltd.”. The KAEFER Group is the world’s largest independent company in the field of heat, cold and acoustic insulation as well as fire protection. It is active in more than 35 countries around the globe and currently employs some 8,800 people. In 2006 the Group turnover will be around € 830 million. The family-owned company founded in 1918 includes the core business segments ‘industry’, ‘offshore’, ‘ship building’, ‘construction’ and ‘aerospace’.
