PR-INFO-A NEW PANELING SYSTEM FOREXTERIOR CEILINGS ON YACHTS

	KAEFER has developed a new mounting system for exterior ceiling panels on yachts. The system consists of GRP-profiles and meets the following requirements: each panel can be individually removed and reinstalled none of the mounting devices such as screws, rivets etc. are visible combined with plastic sandwich panels we get a relatively light-weight ceiling system as all components, exposed to moisture, are made of plastic, no corrosion will occur the customer can choose between a number of options: - the shape of panel edges, - the type of connection device to the ship’s structure, - the design type of connection between sub-construction and ceiling panel The first time this mounting system (pending patent application no. 10301140.4-25) was installed on the exterior ceilings of the MY „CAPRI“ that was delivered in Summer 2003. In her case 15mm aluminum honeycomb panels were used and the invisible clamping profiles were made of stainless steel. In the course of further development the stainless steel and the aluminum had been replaced with plastic to make the system completely corrosion-free in seawater atmosphere.
