KAEFER reports record-breaking neworders in excess of EUR 1 billion

	Record-breaking development of the long-established Bremen based company KAEFER Isoliertechnik – Advisory Board appoints Peter Hoedemaker to Vice-Chairman Bremen, 02.01.2007. In the financial year 2006 and for the first time in its almost 90-year history the KAEFER Group recorded an order intake in excess of EUR 1 billion. The success was spread over all the world’s continents. Large-scale projects in the German construction sector, as well as LNG projects in the North of Europe (Snøhvit) and in South-East Asia / Australia (Woodside) contributed to the positive development. Much of the success was attributable to KAEFER’s international growth strategy and its entry into new segments like aerospace. For the financial year 2006 the Group recorded turnover of more than EUR 900 million, performed by over 9,000 employees in 39 different countries. KAEFER has once again set its sights high for the current year. The basis for positive future development has been laid in 2006 with entry into growth markets like China, India and Canada. With effect from 1st January 2007, the Advisory Board of KAEFER Isoliertechnik GmbH & Co. KG appointed Peter Hoedemaker (43) to Vice-Chairman. Together with his fellow Executive Board members, Norbert Schmelzle (Chairman) and Joern M. Fetkoeter, Peter Hoedemaker has been successfully managing the company for nine years now. As the responsible member of the Board he substantially increased the share of foreign business to 2/3 of total turnover. Hoedemaker: “The strategy course steered by the Management Board – a mixture of organic growth and targeted acquisitions – has proven to be successful. The positive economic climate, together with large orders in the energy sector, now forms a promising basis for future growth.” The Bremen KAEFER Group is the world’s largest independent company in the field of heat, cold and acoustic insulation as well as fire protection. The core business segments of the company, which has been family-owned since its foundation in 1918, include industry, offshore, shipbuilding, construction and aerospace.
