Fire is an ever-present danger at offshore locations. Oil and fuels burn fiercely, making it necessary to provide offshore facilities with fire protection of the very highest quality.

KAEFER supplies first-class fire-protection systems together with passive fire-resistant materials for use in a wide range of environments, including steel constructions, buildings, penetrations, piping and cables.

Their aim is to reduce the heat input and ensure that the temperature on piping, vessels and equipment remains below a specified critical temperature when exposed to a specific fire scenario. At a minimum, this means limiting the temperature to 400 °C in a hydrocarbon fire situation lasting 30 minutes.
